Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel was named Man of the Match, as Birmingham City beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at the Hawthorns in Saturday’s Championship fixture. Osayi-Samuel made his ninth appearance in the English second division as a 41st minute penalty converted by August Priske sealed the win for Birmingham. The 28-year-old Super Eagles star, who featured for 90 minutes, played a pivotal role in the win with six defensive contributions, three clearances and 11 recoveries.
His impressive display made sure Birmingham picked up their fourth away win in the English second-tier and place them in seventh position on 14 points, six adrift of leaders Swansea City. It was not the best of outings for Osayi-Samuel during the international break, after putting in a poor performance in the Super Eagles’ 3-0 loss away to Guinea-Bissau in the 2027 African Cup of Nations.
