Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq was missing in action on Sunday evening as Valencia were held to an entertaining 2-2 draw by Racing Santander in their La Liga encounter. The Nigerian international, who has made three league appearances and scored one goal for Valencia this season, was sidelined for the fixture due to injury.
In his absence, both sides showed incredible attacking intent from the opening whistle, trading goals in a breathless contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats at El Sardinero. Racing Santander capitalized on their home advantage with sharp transitions, while Valencia relied on experienced composure to carve open the hosts’ defense and stay competitive throughout.
Despite both teams pushing hard for a late winner in a frantic closing stage, the resolute defensive blocks held firm, leaving the spoils shared as the final whistle confirmed a 2-2 stalemate.
