Super Eagles midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro was in action as Monza played out a 1-1 draw against Parma in Sunday’s Serie A game. The Nigerian international, who was making his second appearance for Monza this ongoing season, has bagged one assist. Akinsanmiro was solid in the midfield and prevented the host from creating any serious threat.
The visitor took the lead in the 38th minute thanks to Jay Robinson’s right-foot scorcher into the far bottom corner from the edge of the area. Monza almost extended their lead a few minutes later, but Mariano Troilo made a decisive block on the Omari Forson counterattack, and a combination of the crossbar and Corvi’s fingertips prevented the deflected Andrea Colpani finish from making it 2-0 for Monza.
However, Parma leveled parity in the 60th minute as Simone Lontani steered his effort through a sea of legs with the inside of the right boot into the far bottom corner from 12 yards. All efforts from both teams to score the winner proved abortive as Parma and Monza shared the spoils at the end of 90 minutes.
