Vice President JD Vance quoted the Apostle Paul and denounced Democrats as “the party of hatred” in a speech on the second night of the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention in Dallas, Texas.
Speaking on the one-year anniversary of when conservative Christian pundit Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University, Vance described him as “great man” and a “dear friend.” Vance directed his comments to the two young children of the late political activist, saying that “history will record that your father was a great man,” and hailed his widow, Erika Kirk, as an “amazing” woman. “I want you to know what your dad knew,” Vance continued.
“Scripture says that God is ‘a Father to the fatherless’ and every one of us is adopted into His family.” “And as the Apostle Paul told us as he wrote to the Romans, ‘if we are His children, then we are also His heirs.’ We have inherited; we are entitled to inherit something straight from God the Father.’” Vance also touted President Donald Trump's record, boasting that border security had greatly improved, that one million jobs had been created, and that violent crime had sharply dropped in the United States.
The vice president went on to claim that the Democratic Party had become “the party of hatred” and was being overrun by Democrat Socialists and far-left congressional candidates. He cited incidents of Democratic candidates bashing the U.S., claiming that America deserved the 9/11 terrorist attacks, or calling for the end of the nuclear family.
“The Democrats are running candidates who will tell your children what they’re allowed to say, how they’re allowed to live, and, importantly, who they ought to hate,” Vance said.
