Kwara United Head Coach, Suleiman Ashifat, has taken positives from his side’s ‘disappointing’ 2-2 draw against visiting Kano Pillars in Sunday’s 2026/2027 Euromatch–NPFL opener at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl, llorin, Completesports.com reports. Ashifat noted that his side’s matchday squad was dominated by new signings, saying that coming from two goals down to draw the game 2-2 showed the fighting spirit within the newly assembled team.
“Kwara United, as a team, this season, is dominated by new signings, with no more than four old players,” Ashifat, a former Jasper United centre-back, said. We’ve got too many new players and we’re undergoing the blending process. “They have shown they are capable of handling bigger games and so, I believe they will do better when we travel to Plateau United this weekend,” Ashifat said.
