At IFA 2026 in Berlin, TECNO is showcasing the CAMON Slim, a 6.39 mm ultra-slim smartphone that combines a 3D-curved unibody design, a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 Ultra Night Camera, practical AI features, and an AI mood lighting system. The question is whether slimness could become more than a design trend. For many years, smartphone innovation has largely been measured through specifications. More megapixels. More battery capacity. More processing power.
But as smartphones become increasingly capable, design is returning to the conversation. A device that is powerful but uncomfortable to hold does not necessarily provide a better everyday experience. The same applies to a smartphone packed with features that feels heavy in a pocket or awkward in the hand. This is where the TECNO CAMON Slim comes in. TECNO’s approach is not simply to make the phone thinner.
The challenge is to create a slim device without making it feel incomplete. The TECNO CAMON Slim retains a camera system designed for expressive photography, particularly in low-light situations, while also incorporating AI features intended to support everyday use. Its curved unibody design also gives the device a more fluid and fashion-conscious appearance. At IFA, TECNO is showcasing the phone as part of a wider exploration of how smartphone design could evolve.
TECNO is also showcasing its Next-Gen Bezel-less Concept Phone, a prototype featuring an industry-first 0mm visible display border. The concept is not the same as the CAMON Slim, but it points to a broader philosophy within TECNO: some
