Nigerian football supporters clubs have praised the National Sports Commission (NSC) and President Bola Tinubu for the ongoing reforms in the country’s football administration. The five major supporters’ clubs include the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC); the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC); Football Fans Club of Nigeria (FFCN); All Sports Supporters Club (ASSC); and the Nigeria Eagles Supporters Club (NESC).

In a joint statement issued at the National Stadium in Lagos by the club presidents, Vincent Okumagba (SESC), Rev. Samuel Ikpea (NFSC), Kemi Ogunfuwa (FFCN), Johnson Dagana (ASSC), and Sunny Gukong (NESC), the leaders insisted that they are key stakeholders and should not be treated as “mere spectators” in the new administration and restructuring process.

The commendation follows President Tinubu’s directive for a comprehensive overhaul of Nigerian football governance, which has also earned backing from international bodies like FIFA and CAF. “We sincerely appreciate the laudable ongoing reform in Nigeria football administration,” the communique stated. “Any Football Reform must be broad-based, consultative, and involve all recognised stakeholders, including Supporters Clubs. “We support every genuine Football reform and call on all stakeholders to embrace the reforms,” the communique concluded.
