Tyson Fury’s manager, Spencer Brown, has expressed confidence that the long-awaited Anthony Joshua fight will happen, with December 2026 emerging as the preferred date for the heavyweight blockbuster in the UK. Brown said negotiations for the highly anticipated British showdown are progressing, with Cardiff and Wembley among the venues still under consideration.
Joshua’s team is pushing for the fight to take place in the UK, but the event has been mired in negotiations for several months amid an apparent disagreement over the venue. “It’s inching closer, and it looks like it could be the British Boxing Bonanza that we all hoped for, taking place in Britain,” Brown told Sky Sports. “Three venues are still under consideration, with Cardiff and Wembley still in the running.
“It’s looking good. Tyson has been in talks with fighting AJ since the start, and he will fight him anywhere.” While November and December remain possible, Brown said Fury’s camp favours a December date for what could become one of the biggest boxing events in Britain. “November and December are both in play, but we like December as an option,” he said.
“Everyone would be winding up work for the holidays; it would be the best Christmas party in the world.” Brown reiterated his confidence that the fight will ultimately be finalised despite negotiations continuing among the parties involved. “I’m 100 per cent sure that the fight will happen,” he said. “Everyone is still in negotiations; Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren are both on board, but I’m fully confident we can get it done.
Of course, the final say will be with Turki Al-Sheikh, Netflix and SELA, but we are on track to getting it done.”
