Hollywood actor Alan Ritchson, who founded the faith-focused video ministry and YouTube channel InstaChurch, has announced that he and his wife, Catherine, are getting a divorce after three children and more than 20 years of marriage. “After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way,” the 43-year-old “Reacher” star announced in a joint statement with his wife on Instagram. “We grew up together.
We built a life and family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world. Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us — or the love and respect we will always share,” the statement added.
The couple expressed their commitment to “becoming the strongest co-parents we can be." “The best gift we can give one another — and our boys — right now is friendship, grace, and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be," they wrote.
"We also want to give each other room to grow into the people we are becoming.” Ritchson, a Christian his entire life, started InstaChurch in 2022 as a space to discuss Scripture and modern culture. He also speaks candidly about Christianity, personal trauma and mental health. Just two months ago, in an interview with Dax Shepard, Ritchson, who struggles with bipolar disorder, revealed that he has also been diagnosed with chronic post-traumatic stress disorder.
In his latest InstaChurch video, titled “Drop the Weight!” Ritchson tackles Hebrews 12:1, which states: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”
