In a major boost for domestic football enthusiasm, the Plateau State Government has acquired a substantial batch of match tickets to ensure free admission for supporters ahead of their high-profile Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against Shooting Stars. As both sides look to climb the early-season standings, Plateau United currently sit 10th on the league table with four points, closely followed by Shooting Stars in 12th position with three points.
Aiming to remove financial entry barriers for local football lovers, the administrative intervention is designed to pack the stands and create an electric home atmosphere. Facing a traditional heavyweight like Shooting Stars requires every ounce of psychological edge, and state stakeholders are pulling out all the stops to give the team maximum vocal backing.
The development was officially confirmed via the club’s X handle on Saturday, detailing how a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Sports and Jos North LGC has underwritten matchday attendance. “FREE REGULAR TICKETS! The Ministry of Sports & Jos North LGC has sponsored FREE regular tickets for our home clash against 3SC! VIP: ₦1,000. Already bought your ticket online? Keep it! Your ticket can be used for our next home game,” the club announced.
Sports administrators believe that transforming the stadium into a sea of passionate supporters will provide the players with an invaluable morale lift. Filling the arena not only exerts immense pressure on the visiting Shooting Stars squad but directly underscores a broader commitment to fostering a vibrant sports culture and boosting domestic league attendance.
