Michael Desronvil, the holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy case, is standing by his view that the mother of three is guilty of killing her children. He described the children as “three angels” who cannot “speak for themselves” and is publicly proclaiming his Catholic faith as the fallout from the mistrial continues.
In an exclusive video that aired Monday on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Desronvil acknowledged the attention he has received since he was publicly identified as the lone juror who would not join the rest of the jury in finding Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity. The prosecution argued that Clancy’s killing of her children was premeditated and calculated.
Her defense argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis when the children died and should not be held criminally responsible. “I know the whole focus has been on me, but we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the three angels,” he said.
Desronvil made clear he was referring to Clancy’s children, describing them as “the ones that can’t speak for themselves” and “the ones that can’t defend themselves” before naming them: Cora, Dawson and Callan. “I want to thank God for my Catholic faith,” he said.
“I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability to love my daughter.” Desronvil also thanked supporters for their “prayers,” “emotional support” and “psychological support.” The video aired one day before the defense and prosecution met at a hearing to discuss next steps in the case after the mistrial. Another hearing is set for Nov. 2 to rule on several motions.
They include a motion to obtain Desronvil’s juror records and questionnaire and a motion to dismiss filed by Clancy’s defense. A possible retrial date is also expected to be discussed at that hearing.
