Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has undergone successful surgery following an injury she sustained while representing Nigeria on international duty. The 26-year-old forward picked up the injury during the second leg of Nigeria’s second-round qualifying fixture for the 2028 Olympic Games against Comoros on Tuesday. Ajibade is now expected to spend some time on the sidelines as she begins her recovery, although the exact timeline for her return remains uncertain.
The Nigerian international confirmed the successful surgery in a post on her Instagram page, where she also expressed gratitude to fans for their love, support and prayers. “Surgery done. Recovery mode on. Thank you all for the love and prayers. Back soon for His greater glory,” she wrote.
While the surgery has been completed successfully, no official details have been provided regarding the duration of Ajibade’s recovery or when she is expected to return to action.
